Meta Launches New Creator Management Tools to Facilitate Links Between Talent and Talent Managers - 18 January
5 quick and easy news to keep you updated ⚡️
1 • TikTok’s Testing an AI Song Generation Process in the App
TikTok’s testing out another generative AI element, with some users now being prompted to use a new “AI Song” option, which, as it sounds, is able to generate original music, based on text prompts, to accompany your clips.
As you can see in these example screens, posted by app researcher Jonah Manzano, TikTok’s new “AI Song” option provides a basic text command process to generate original music in the app.
As explained by TikTok:
“AI Song is an experimental feature on TikTok that uses AI to create songs based on prompts you enter.”
Pretty straightforward.
TikTok further notes that the lyrics generated via the tool are powered by Bloom, which touts itself as the world’s largest, open multilingual language model. The Bloom dataset contains over 176 billion parameters, and has the capacity to generate text in 46 languages. So there should be a broad range of lyrical options, which should mean that you can produce better results than: “Fulfilling my desires/iPhone eleven glide”.
Though that song is catchy, maybe there is something to it.
The option actually looks to be an expansion of TikTok owner ByteDance’s previous AI music project, a separate app called Ripple, which it launched in selected markets last year.
TikTok’s AI Song option is available to selected users in the initial test pool at present.
2 • MrBeast Uploads Clip Directly to X for the First Time as the Platform Leans Into Video Content
The X team is super excited this week, because MrBeast (aka Jimmy Donaldson), the most popular YouTuber of all time, has uploaded one of his videos directly to X, as a means to test X’s monetization capacity, according to Donaldson’s post.
This comes after a recent interaction with X owner Elon Musk, in which Donaldson explained to Musk that there’s little point in him uploading content directly to X, because he can’t make as much money from his videos on X as he can on YouTube.
Musk and Donaldson have also interacted at various points in the past, with Musk looking to lure Donaldson to help boost X’s new video push. But in pure revenue terms, Donaldson’s correct, there’s no way that X will be able to match the money that he makes on YouTube.
For context, MrBeast reportedly generates between $2 million and $4 million per video he uploads, and he posts around once per week. X has paid out around $30 million in total to all creators over the past six months.
Yet, even so, it seems that Musk has convinced MrBeast to give his new creator revenue share program a shot, which X has shouted across every channel that it can, as an endorsement of its new “video first platform” strategy.
3 • Instagram Will Now Enable Users to Create Custom Sticker from Still Image Posts
Instagram’s added a new option that enables you to cut out elements of still image posts, which you can then re-use as stickers in your own Stories and Reels.
As you can see in this example flow, Instagram’s new “Create a cutout sticker” is available within the three dots menu display on any publicly posted still image post. When you activate it, Instagram’s system will then identify the focus entity in the image, which you can then save as a separate sticker.
You can then use that sticker in your Stories and Reels.
It’s similar to the image cutout option that parent company Meta also recently added to WhatsApp, and it could provide a range of new creative opportunities.
Though there are some limitations that could restrict use.
For one, most of your Instagram feed is likely now video clips, so actually finding still image posts is not as easy as it had been in times past.

What are the key trends of focus among B2B marketers, and how are they looking to tap into the latest opportunities and market shifts?
LinkedIn partnered with Ipsos to conduct a survey of over 2,000 B2B marketers from around the world, in order to get their insights into what they see as the most important industry trends, and related impacts across different categories.
The results show that AI is a logically a big focus, while maximizing shrinking ad budgets, and customer retention, are also significant considerations.
